Snowman Treats!

Here are the fun little treat bags the twins and I made up for their classmates for their Christmas parties. These are so easy and fun to make! The poem reads:

"It's cold outside so in this pack is a special mixed-up Snowman Snack!
Look very closely and you may spy little snowballs, chocolate hats and eyes.
There's a little nose and pretzel arms and a tasty scarf to give him some charm.
Have fun looking, then you know what to do...
gobble up this snack made especially for you!

In side were pretzels (arms), mini chocolate morsels (eyes, mouth, buttons), Junior mints (hats), Mike and Ikes (noese), marshmallows, Twizzlers Pull n' Peel (scarf)

Christmastime at School

The kids have been having a blast at school, and with so many events I can't keep up anymore! So here is a rundown of what has been going on in the past week or so. Bella has been complaining that she wants homework, so I talked to Ms. Patricia and she is going to start giving her some worksheets to take home. Can this last through high school? In my wildest dreams huh...haha! They do bring home a lot of papers that they do in class, but to try to continue to scan them all in this blog would me miles long!! I don't know how to choose which ones to keep, so at the end of the school year I will have them help me decide which ones to keep.

Bella with her teachers Ms. Patricia & Ms. Christi

Quinn with Ms. Denissa

Quinn with Ms. Kim

The twins did some Christmas shopping at school for each other, Nanny, Gramps and Papa. They were very excited about this!! They have done some really nice projects too in school, I'll have to take a picture of our family room wall! Quinn's teacher, Ms. Denissa, did a really adorable project with the kids. She did their hand print on an ornament and made it look like a family of snowmen. She even went a step further for us...she went over to Bella's class to have Bella do one too!! So we have 2 amazing ornaments hanging on our tree!!

This past week they each had a party in their classes too. In Bella's class they did a fun book exchange. Each child brought in a wrapped book with their name on it. They then played a game and got a book. Bella was all excited because Gabriel, they boy that likes her in class, got her book! Bella go a Dr Seus book. They then got to decorate cookies and eat them in class, yummy! In Quinn's class they decorated cookies one day, then the last day they got to play in the park outside, then they came in and have a little party with food. I got to come in and help out too.

Bella also got a gift from her 'boyfriend' Gabriel! She was confused at school but was very excited when we got home and she had a gift from him. She felt bad that she didn't get him anything and said, 'Mommy can we go get Gabriel something?' So we did pick a little something up for him and she will give it to him after Christmas break.
Bella and her gift!

Quinn got a huge coloring activity book from Ms. Kim and Ms. Denissa! Thank you he loves it!!

We love seeing them really enjoy school, and wanting to go. They have learned a lot and sometimes surprise us with what they know!!

A lot of Activities

So once again I have slacked on keeping even a weekly update for the twins journey through school. Can you tell I take on too much? Well I guess I will just post when I can...don't hold me to it. Anyway... Bella has taken home sooo many papers that she has done in school I can't keep up! I will scan the fun ones, or the ones she picks out as we go and post them. She is loving school a lot, and asked on Saturday why she wasn't going to school that morning. Bella likes to practice her name, but we are trying to get her to write her name in lowercase letters, she will only write it in uppercase.

Quinn has had to miss a few days of school for a speech evaluation. The outcome is after seeing an ENT specialist he has to get tubes in his ears on Nov. 14th, 2010. His tympanogram (sp?) in his right here was flat line, and the left was just a hump. They are supposed to show a huge spike. Basically the way they explained it is that he hears things muffled as if he is under water but much thicker fluid, or when you are in an airplane. His speech evaluation through the school board, show that he is slurring his words and leaving off the endings. So we are waiting to hear about our meeting with the zoned school, and he will have speech therapy in addition to VPK. So another appt. to work into the week. At least we caught it early enough and with the tubes being put in we hope to see a HUGE improvement. (I'm hoping this will help the meltdowns we have too!) Other than that Quinn loves school! He goes there very shy but comes out with a smile ear to ear!!

Wednesday they had 'Funny Hat Day.' This coming week they have to dress like cowboys, farm animals, etc. Bella is having a party in her classroom and Quinn did a pumpkin project today in class.

They also want to thank all of our family and friends who bought subscriptions to magazines for their school fundraiser. It was greatly appreciated! One of the games they got to play if so many orders were submitted by a certain date was 'Plinko.' Bella played and won $3!! So we hope those of you who contributed enjoy your discounted subscriptions and we thank you very much for supporting our school!!

I hope that this next week won't be too busy, that I can get some pictures up. My desk is over-flowing with things I need to do, but just don't have motivation to decide an order to it. Maybe because I have 3 kids, a husband, a house, laundry, a job, crafts....hehehe!! You know me gotta keep busy!

Tag Readers

Today we hooked up the kids Tag Readers to see what they have learned and if they earned any rewards. Both earned quite a few rewards. Some coloring pages, matching, reward charts to cut out which rewards they earned to keep track. They were very excited!! I love LeapFrog Tag Books, the kids can read, learn and play games at the same time!! We have purchased some books for them for Christmas and I hope to find a few more, so if you are looking to get them something, they would love Tag Books! I have a list of what they have and what they are getting, so please let me know and I can email you that list.

Week 7

Quinn: Worked on a family project that was a pumpkin that he had to disguise! He also worked on the letter 'D.' Quinn and trying to get him to do homework is not fun, oh how I see the years getting worse. He enjoys playing with his friends in class he says, and getting to pet Razor again! He picked out a silly straw out of the treasure box this week.

Bella: This week was a very hectic one of course. Bella developed pink eye and a double ear infection so she missed 2 days of school! She did her homework very quickly at home, and really enjoyed doing it. She also worked on the letter 'D' this week. She got to color a picture of a dinosaur!! She got to go back to school on Friday and her teacher was happy to see her back.

Week 6

Quinn: Another great week, and lots of papers that he has brought home, and busy Mommy hasn't posted them yet. He did an adventure outside this week looking for things that started with the letter"C" and things that were red. He really enjoys the music part of class, I always see him jumping around when I go to pick him up. Also for the first time this week he got a green smiley face on his calendar. He was apparently not having good listening ears on and jumping off of the chairs. Hmmm...sounds like home. Friday was a much better day! He has a packet of homework to do by Monday!

Bella: She had a good week too, she doesn't talk much at all and Ms. Patricia told me that when Bella raises her hand she makes the effort to call on Bella because she barely talks! They have been also working on the letter "C" this week too. Friday Bella's name was called to take home 'Beary Nice' the classroom bear. She has to write in his journal about everything that she did with him, she was very excited!!

Hopefully I can find some time this weekend to post their papers, my scanner has been giving me problems and haven't been about to scan things (darn wireless!)

Week 5

Quinn: Cranky as usual in the mornings, I don't know what it is lately but trying to get him to do stuff I always hear..."I can't do that much," "I can't wait that long." Boy oh Boy! Anyway he has done a lot of papers so be sure to check those out on his page. He loves playing with his new friends at school and was also excited that he got to pet Razor in class! Ms. Denissa says that he is so quiet, I don't believe that! I wish he wouldn't whine at home, I guess I have to run a school here. He also did some finger painting too of some bees!

Bella: Always has a great day in school. She has been working hard at writing the letter 'B' of course her favorite. Her name was even on the board since it starts with the letter 'B'. She was line leader this week too! Bella has done many papers and drawings so be sure to also check out her page once I get all of them scanned in. Ms. Particia says that she is sooo smart, but doesn't say a word! I hope that changes, because she is not like that at home.

Week 4

Wow what a week it was I can't even remember what happened. So many things going on I totally dropped the ball and forgot to post about their week. I feel so bad! I promise to keep up with the next weeks to give an overview.

They did do a great performance for Grandparents Day. Quinn's was on Thursday and they sang a song, well Quinn just kinda stood there, but he knew the sign language that they learned to go with it. Bella knew all the words to her performance, hers was on Friday. It was nice to see what they do in Chapel too! So fun!!! I will add the videos once I get them edited, I Hope soon! My list doesn't end... LOL!

I have a TON of papers that Quinn and Bella did that are amazing that I hope to get scanned in tomorrow so be sure to look out for them.

Week 3

I can't believe another week has gone by soooo fast! It was definitely a very crazy one for us. At least Monday we had off but Jay and I were very busy re-doing the kids rooms.

Bella: This week she got to meet the bear 'Beary Nice.' This bear is the class bear who will go home with one of the children over the weekend and they have to write in his journal of what he did over the weekend. She did lots of shapes and numbers worksheets, and learned the alphabet. Of curse played outside on the swings and the green slide. Thursday and Friday she had to go to school by herself since Quinn was sick. You can see her work on her page. Snacks: crackers (that she didn't like), popcorn, cereal

Quinn: This week was a short week for Quinn. He was very excited that Daddy got to come pick him up at school on Tues. He learned about the color green and worked on the number zero. Wednesday was not a good day for Quinn. He slept through most of school and when I went to pick him up he was sound asleep in his teachers arms. Thursday and Friday Quinn stayed home from school because he was sick. He had a fever, and an ear infection with sinus congestion. He got 2 shots at the doctors office, if he doesn't take the medicine this weekend, back we go Monday and Tuesday for more shots! He teacher was nice and sent home some work for him. We did them with him and sent them back. He worked on different lines to trace and matching pictures. Check out his page to see his work. Snacks: Crackers

I am hoping next week will be a much better week! The kids are doing something special for the Grandparents at the end of the week. I can't wait to see it!! Have a great weekend.

First Day of SCHOOL!

The morning was rough I think for all but all-in-all the twins first day of school went very well. Some small tears were shed but hey that's normal. After getting home with the twins they seemed to relax and tell me what they did at school. I know throughout the year we will have many stories to hear from them! Not too much time to do a lot for 3hrs at school. I think the day was new, exciting, and overwhelming for them.

Here is what Quinn got from his teacher today:

Here is what Bella got from her teacher today:
(She got a Hershey's Kiss on the paper, but she ate it in the car)

Here is the video....
