Adventures with Murry

There has been a lot going on at school! I have been behind on keep everyone updated! The kids have had a great report card as well as their latest progress report. It's so hard to keep up on things with the holidays.

They went on their first field trip in October and got compeltely soaked! Poort things I don't even know why they too them. However they are going back in January for FREE! yeah!

I have been very proud of them this school year so far and they are learning so much. Their teacher are wonderful too! I wish I had signed up to volunteer, however with Brinlee it would be too hard since I can't take her with me :( Maybe next year.

Anyway....the kids wanted to share with their family ad friends to follow our family blog to read about our Elf on the SHelf Murry's adventures this year at our home! Be sure to check out: www.cone-family.blogspot.com to read where they find him every morning. We are enjoying having Murry back and have this wonderful tradition in our home!!

No Bus this Morning

As usual we walked to the bus stop. The kids met their friends and while we were waiting they wanted to play tag. I told them not to run because the sidewalk was wet because of the sprinklers. Well, of course they did not listen. Bella was running and she slipped and fell face first! I freaked a little as was worried about her face. She got up and I knew right away she was completely embarassed! Poor girl!! She wanted to cry, but didn't.

Her knees were all scraped up and started to bleed, her face was just red a little so that was good. I had my neighbor wait with Quinn for the bus and I took Bella home to clean her up. We put band-aids on her knees and her face was just red, like a rug-burn. I wrote a note to her teacher in case she complained later of a headache or something.

It was my first time experiencing the car-rider line. Ugh, so glad that they take the bus so I can be right back home, not have to wait i my car running in the heat and I can at least give them a kiss goodbye! I told the teachers out there that she is usually a bus rider and fell this am so she didn't know where to go.

I'm sure her face will be red-er (is that a word?) when she gets home. Hoping she has a great day and has learned once again to LISTEN!

Going Good

School is going well for the twins! Days fly by for me even though I have more time to do things during the day. Some days I wish I didn't have to work so I could get more done. Oh well...

They are really ejoying school and I can't wait to hear how they are doing at Parent/Teacher conferences at the end of October. It's a little weird having them get on the bus and off the bus and not driving to pick them up. But then again it's great because I save on gas!

Their first field trip is rapidly approaching. It's to a petting farm on Halloween. The cost of these feild trips are expensive too! $25 per child! Another debt to add to my debt, I don't want them to be left out of a field trip just because we can't pay for it. I know they would be heartbroken. We will find a way.

Spanish Here We Come

Bella came home on Friday with a little workbook she idid in class. It's about the school rules but everything is in Spanish! She did an amazing job coloring and gluing, however I have no idea what it says!! LOL! There are about 5 pages to it, I only scanned in the first page. You can see it on her page!!

Doing Great!

Well the first week is almost to a close and the kids are loving school! They have had P.E., science, movie time and more. It's great seeing them being excited to get on the bus as well as excited when they come home to tell me a little bit about what they did during the day.

It has been a small struggle for me to figure out what to send for lunchf or Quinn but I'm sure I will really start figuring out what to give him. Right now it's more of snacks, I just want hom to get used to school.

I posted some, well more like a lot, of pictures that Quinn has drawn at school. He does an amazing job! Such an imagination!! Be sure to check out his page to see his artwork.

I hope school continues to be fun for them and makes learning easy. I have had some troubles with our HOA and the bus, but that's another story...

Looking forward to all of the Kindergarten adventures this year as well as finally having a little more time to get my things done during the day. However I should bite my tounge, I might just jinx myself. LOL! Here are a few pictures from our walk home on their first day. I forgot to take a picture with the twins before they left for their first day, so I figured a picture at the end of their first day was just as important!!
Me and my AMAZING kindergarteners!

It was a Good Day

The twins said they had a good first day of school. They got to play on the playground together, sat next to their classmates at lunch and learned about their classrooms. I had some paperwork to fill out when I got home from work and I'm sure there will be more.

Bella said they made a trip to the library and listened to a story about a gingerbread man and got to eat gingerbread cookies. Quinn of course said he didn't know what they did in school! LOL!

Bella did a cute handprint on a page that had an adorable poem about her First Day of Kindergarten. I have posted in on her page. Quinn said he did one too, but his teacher didn't send it home.

They are excited about going back to school and I'm excited to hear what they do everyday. It has been nice so far having time to get things done around the house. I think I can get used to this, however it will still take some time.

Meet the Teachers!

On Friday August 19th, 2011 we got to meet their teachers! We got a lot done at the school today. We found out their bus schedule, bought school t-shirts, got to see where their classrooms were and met their teachers!

They are in the dual language program so they will have the same teachers throughout the year. Quinn has Mrs. Ferrell for homeroom and Bella has Sra. Salvatierra for homeroom. They will switch teachers during the day to learn Spanish. During meet the teachers we got to do a scavanger hunt to locate things in the classroom as well as drop of school supplies and meet their teachers in person! The kids even got little snack goodie bags from their teachers to welcome them to Kindergarten!

I think they are very excited and ready to start the school year!
Excited to meet their teachers!

We are going to be Dual Language Students!
